So you couldn't sleep either tonight Derek? Ok WTF is up with this article? What are your personal thoughts? I found the whole thing interesting but have no opinion on Gate's personal vaccine agenda because over the last week this is the first I've ever heard about the conspiracy theories. I am interested in whether there is any truth to his personal wealth, tax breaks and the influence of his "charitable foundation". For instance, has he really donated that much to the WHO? Any time I've heard people debate his personal intentions the liberal defender of Gates always comes back with, "How bad can a guy who is giving away his entire fortune really be?" If accurate, this is clearly not the case.

Gates “giving away his money to charity” is a simple tax dodge all the kool kids use.

I try to find interesting things for our posters to read and talk about. I don't have strong thoughts on this topic right now. That could change.

It would be interesting to see if and how the Foundation and the Gates moved around their investments, say around Jan 1 2020.

Gates liquidated his Berkshire Hathaway, much of his MSFT and resigned as Chairman of msft and Berkshire boards

I've never been able to see why anyone has a problem with Gates. I've read about him, watched documentaries, followed news stories, etc...and nothing. I've never seen the guy do anything wrong to anyone in any way, or do anything scandalous or sketchy or unethical.

He's a sanctimonious prick who stole the ideas to create windows. But other than that, a great guy in real life.

But why couldn't he have cared about football and bought our* way out of the cellar like uncle Phil? All that $ and all we* got were some shitty vaccines? FTG

Gates was happy to be an apolitical nerd stealing ideas to make Microsoft better, allegedly. The Clinton's and Congress shook him down in the 90's with threats of a break up. He's been a good boy ever since

Not surprising that a Seattle kid from Lakeside would bat from the left side.

This sounds like some DSA college freshmen crying about how when rich person X donates however many millions of dollars to support a good cause, it’s the same as a minimum wage worker donating $5.

Guess we shouldn’t bother playing the game.

His achilles heel, among millions of others, is his nerd brain. The same brain that can hold 20 completely different concepts at the same time, is also prone to robotic behaviors, lack of empathy, and at its worst, sadistic behavior. That's the spectrum, but not BG, necessarily.

Bill's most notorious asset - impatience - is also his worst liability when it comes to world health, education, and other causes he supports. He's too impatient to be a scientist or doctor, but at his core, I really believe he means well in every endeavor. He is also besieged by an ultra-competitive personality that doesn't take well to personal sleights.

A very complicated man, but ultimately, I think, one who wants to make the world better, not subject to his control.

PS - You won't find better people than his parents. Especially his mother. Very classy woman.
