If this goes until July we are well and truly fucked. And Biden hobbles, drooling, into the Presidency.

If Trump could stop trotting out to his daily briefing and making shit up on the fly and generally looking clueless he'd wrap this shit up with ease. Polling has started to drop off in the last couple weeks, but he was actually getting the "wartime president" boost. And then of course he got side tracked and proceeded to undo that goodwill by being himself.Swaye said:If this goes until July we are well and truly fucked. If this goes into July, there won't be any Presidency.Swaye said:If this goes until July we are well and truly fucked. And Biden hobbles, drooling, into the Presidency.
Not kidding. People need to eat. They start doing bad shit. The boys at the club are already whispering about a rise in property crimes due to businesses being vacant. Not being reported in the media.

Lots of truth in this. Trump is often his own worst enemyGreenRiverGatorz said:

There will be a subset of the population who have never had to even imagine stealing to get food before, who will have to evaluate that choice. Paycheck-to-paycheck folks with no savings, not credit cards, no money coming in, and mouths to feed. Could be a scary time if the relative pittance from the gubmet isn't on its way soon. -
Guess what happens when you let criminals out of jails to avoid the COVID?ramenduck said:

They go back to being criminals.
And then the hungry people turn into criminals too.
Basic hierarchy of needs shit.

The time is now. Or should I say Monday April 13th for Trump to start listing states and/or areas which He feels should reopen their economies and put the pressure on the Governors to do so.Swaye said:If this goes until May

Unfortunately Washington damnit! isn't one of them yet. -
The the government shuts down the economy and people are "alarmed" at the deteriorating economy?
Reminds me of when the Gov of Oregon announced the stay at home order and said it was going to be "inconvenient". Just a little inconvenient... -
It's all way too clear how many people don't know the severity of what's going on. They're like, "Well we lived through 9/11 and the great recession and the economy bounced back strong., we just need to stay home, derp derp"MikeDamone said:The the government shuts down the economy and people are "alarmed" at the deteriorating economy?

You can tell them that this situation is 5 times as worse and more difficult to recover from until you're blue in the face. And they'll come back.... "Have you seen what's going on in New York????"
And then you tell them that we had it here in Oregon before New York and we have 44 deaths in 42 days of it and the hospitals have all the rooms and ventilators available that you would ever need.
And some of them are so dense, they'll come back with "Well we need to do this for New York. We're all one"

Amazing how the people who are making these decisions are all people who will see no reduction in their pay nor will they ever miss a paycheck on account of their decision.MikeDamone said:The the government shuts down the economy and people are "alarmed" at the deteriorating economy?
