I'm not sure how removing one inspector general and replacing him with another IG is going to be a critical issue. If Trump was removing all oversight and leaving the position empty it might be a big deal.

Atkinson also had oversight authority in the fraudulent FISA warrants that we now know didn't just include Carter page and the Trump campaign.
