So this guys salary was about $1,000,000. The article doesn't say anything about his $2,000.000 bonus

With 3500 employees that's a one time payment of $285 a person. That's their regular salary? Let's say he's cutting his bonus too. So a one time payment of $800 a person?

Of course the dumbasses who think Bloomberg could have given everyone $1,000,000 thinks Boyle is a hero and the "have my business". It's great that they are paying their employees. But to bundle that with the spin that the ceo is personally football the bill is a dishonest PR stunt. And of course it wasn't done humbly and quietly, it was done with a big press release. And of course the gullible public eats it up.

    So what's your argument? That isn't not a PR stunt to appear compassionate and virtuous while the truth is it's the opposite. An opportunity to increase profit while deceiving people who aren't good with numbers. Which is most people.

    Seems like a decent thing to do. How much are you giving? Was Boyle not earning his salary? Was the hit to the workers his fault? I know the family and they are great people. His daughter played softball with my daughter. Tim is not a dick. Not a good look on you.

    Good Christ. Like I said. PR stunts work on the weak minded and emotional. Do the god damn math. Not a good look on you.

    Paying the employees is great. To think it has any relationship or is enabled by his salary reduction is absurd. It’s a drop in the bucket and doesn’t move the needle. Pure PR play to minimize the damage. Hence the press release vs just doing it humbly.

    How much did you give again? It was a nice gesture. Columbia is a great company and employer. Boyle isn't Simon Legree. If you are weak minded and think this will make all his employees millionaires then that's on the weak minded. That's not why he did it. I'll make a note you are looking for pics of 12 year old little girls.
