Shut it all down. Bad news = not a lot of testing in Oregon so far. Good news = is that assuming that those tested are either sick or have a direct contact with someone sick, not a lot of positives. Hopefully, the tests are accurate and don’t have a high false negatives. Dead are uniformly old with pre-existing conditions. The 63 year old was I suspect pretty messed up if they didn’t hospitalize him. Terminal cancer or something similar. Definitely not NYC.

https://ktvz.com/news/coronavirus/2020/03/24/oregon-reports-3-more-covid-19-deaths-for-a-total-of-8/

All 3 in Portland area, had underlying conditions; 18 new cases bring state total to 209

PORTLAND, Ore. (KTVZ) — COVID-19 has claimed three more lives in Oregon, raising the state’s death toll to eight, the Oregon Health Authority reported Tuesday.

OHA also reported 18 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, bringing the state total to 209, as of 8 a.m. Tuesday

They new cases were in the following counties: Clackamas (3), Clatsop (1), Jackson (1), Marion (2), Multnomah (4) and Washington (7). Oregon Health Authority reports new cases once a day on its website: www.healthoregon.org/coronavirus.

Oregon’s sixth COVID-19 death was a 78-year-old man in Clackamas County, who tested positive on March 15 and died Sunday at Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center. He had underlying medical conditions.

Oregon’s seventh death was a 63-year-old man in Multnomah County who had underlying medical conditions and was not hospitalized at the time of death. He tested positive on March 16 and died Monday.

Oregon’s eighth death was a 90-year-old woman in Washington County, who tested positive last Thursday and died Monday at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. She, too, had underlying medical conditions OHA said.

Tuesday brought Clatsop County's first positive test result, out of 46 total tests, becoming the 18th county in Oregon with at least one COVID-19 case -- half of Oregon's 36 counties.

The state's deaths so far include two each in Multnomah and Washington counties and one each in Clackamas, Lane, Linn and Marion counties.

Oregon also has now recorded 4,350 negative COVID-19 test results, for a total tested since Jan. 24 of 4,559.

Deschutes County had had 10 COVID-19 cases and 102 negative test results. Jefferson County has had six negative test results and Crook County has had five.

Of the total 209 cases, 61 were hospitalized, 117 were not and data was not provided on the 31 others.

So far, 109 of the positive Oregon cases have been among those ages 55 and older, 72 were 35-54, 18 25-34, six 18-24 and four were 17 or younger.

While it' not written. Most if not all of the boat launches on the Oregon Coast have been closed. The 650,000 acre Siuslaw National Forest was just closed. Look for the forests to the East of the Valley to be closed.

My tinfoil is sparking hard right now. These steps have nothing to do with social distancing. They want everyone confined to the City.

Except how do you account for flyover country?

There's not a chance in hell rancher in Ten Sleep, WY or a sodbuster in Washtucna is going to comply and head to Casper or Spokane.

I guess my point is that they want to know where everyone is and contain from there. I didn’t mean that they want to drag those in the country to the city. But it appears they don’t want anyone from the cities to go to the country.

And the trains ARE running on time. But I’m not sure that I like what’s on them.

I got the sense there was a more nefarious ending. Like rounding people up in cities for genocide and mass extermination.

I also believe the stimulus is a farce. Designed to further division more than anything. I’m sure they’ll pass it soon. And the people will get a couple crums. But it’s all designed to discourage the unity that is needed for this country to not turn on its ear.

The “Free World” media only reports new cases and deaths. They never report the the 1000s each day that have passed the 14 day stage and have recovered.

Hell even the Chinese media does that.

Nope. We’re being groomed for a new normal that won’t be what it was before. It’s way more than trying to make the Orange Man look bad. It’s way bigger than that I fear.

I told you all that there is now an asterisk on the CDC website saying their stats will no longer include total number because that would ruin the ruse of a MASSIVE mortality rate. I have it on good authority that even those being tested are coming back 90%+ negative as the symptoms mirror things like a cold or influenza. Reality fucks with the stats which then fucks with the narrative.

I don't fear a 'new normal' per se - what I fear is the blow back when people realize the new normal isn't the old normal. Maybe the coastal dwellers will bow to that state....but that shit don't fly between the Cascades and the Appalachians for the most part.

Yes and no. I think there’s a good chunk of us who don’t like it but are willing to give it a couple weeks of LIPO time.

After that, there better be a clear timeframe for return to normal or shit is gonna get real, real fast.

I’ve been on team stay home when you can and will continue as needed. And my point of all the closures in the country isn’t so much that I’m pissed because I can’t go out there.

I just feel that it’s a slow burn of shutting our country down. I understand why the beach communities are shut down. It was an absolute shit show at Oregon’s this last weekend. And Oregonians deserve 0-12 after that. However I don’t agree with shutting down huge National Forests where there’s nothing out there. And I don’t understand why Coastal boat launches are shut down.

It may be as simple as governments are running out of shit to close so they are getting down the list. Need to daily remind the people that they are safe and sound now thanks to your leaders
