If only we'd of had our health expert in Beijing, none of this would have happened.

Seriously. The Chi Coms are some of the biggest shit head, pussies. They basically sat out WWII and let Chang fight the Japanese and then were tan, rested and ready for round 2 of the Civil War. We could have easily nuked them in 1950- 51 and chose not to escalate and settle for draw.

No country did more to raise their standard of living than the USA, and now these cunts are trying to use their bullshit propaganda to blame us for their wetmarket flu.

    FUCK THOSE GUYS
are you saying Truman screwed us by firing MacArthur?

He was a vain sum bitch no doubt and Truman was right to fire his ass. Civilians dictate overall strategy to the Generals, not the over way around.

Funny Patton wanted to mop up the Russians and MacArthur wanted to mop up the Chinese.

Both were right. What would the world have been without Russia? China might not have caused any trouble without Russias support.

I worked with a Bataan Death March survivor. He hated MacArthur’s guts. And it’s Ridgeway that prevented us from getting routed in Korea.

Bataan wasn't all MacArthur's fault. It was the US Government's decision to not attempt to reinforce/resupply our troops in the Philippines. The risk was too great for the Navy. That said, they could have prepped supplies and defensive positions better for the retreat.

MacArthur did save the war from being lost at Incheon so he deserves some credit here. But, yes, Ridgeway salvages the bad situation in 1951 and got us the tie. People forget the massive casualties we inflicted on the chi comes to force a stalemate.

I think taking the non-war into the sacred land of China would have solved a ton of problems that have since developed.

I love the fact that 200K+ Chinese troops were in Korea, nukes were being reassigned to the military, and the CIA reported to Truman that the Chinese were not going to go on any offense operations.

We didn't have anywhere close to enough A-bombs in 1945 to finish of the Ruskies. The amount of casualties if would have required to push them out of Eastern Europe in 1945 or 1946 (if it was even possible) is unfathomable. 90% of Wehrmacht casualties in WWII were from the Ruskies. The Red Army wasn't going anywhere.

And let's not pretend the public would have tolerated an encore either.

Of course not. It's completely silly to even consider as having been politically possible. By the time the American Public began to realize Uncle @DerekJohnson was no longer our? fren most of our Army had been disbanded.

We supplied a lot of there gear and food. We were at full mobilization and war production. We could have crushed them fairly quickly.

Would have finished a few nukes pretty quick too in order to speed it up.

Well FDR's man Alger Hiss might have had something to do with us (the general public) not knowing the Russkies were bad.

I remember my first FIL (I number wives and in-laws) still ranting and raving about how Alger Hiss got into FDRs ear.

The American public had had enough of wartime deprivation and wouldn’t have tolerated more of it regardless of one’s opinion of the Russians. In addition, the Russians had been touted as our comrades in arms for the previous three plus years.

you don't think a Soviet spy as assistant Sect of State and developing/influencing foreign policy could have a say in what was official statements our government would make about the Russians?

I have no idea how the majority of Americans were feeling - other than happy the war was over, but at the ready for another war? I have no idea.
A few well placed soviet moles could easily sway public opinion toward anti-war pro Russia feelings. Kind of like lots of the press are pushing the proper ways to call the Wuhan virus by the a name that was given it to a few months late, and by a name the Chinese government wishes you would use
