Valrico (Fla.) Bloomingdale cornerback Philip Riley named his top seven on Friday night.
Riley named a top seven of Minnesota, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Texas, Virginia Tech and Washington
Washington: "My hometown. What they're doing is amazing, and they're on a roll. The whole staff has been showing me love since day one so I'm always going to have love for them. Coach (Terrence) Brown, coach (Thomas) Ford, coach (Will) Harris, coach (Brian) Watkins, they have all been talking to me about how we could take it to the next level. It's a really special place, my home state, my home college and I appreciate how much love they put in."
Riley is originally from Washington, where he prepped at Lakewood (Wash.) Lakes and played his first two years before moving to Florida.
The move to Florida and his subsequent big junior season, has led to his recruitment exploding, with Riley closing in on 40 offers.
"It was a really good move and it was smooth and rewarding," said Riley. "I feel like I have grown as a person and a player since I moved here and Florida feels like home."
A three-star in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings, Riley ranks as the No. 26 cornerback nationally in the 2021 class.
I’m confused. How are we losing dudes, who seemed genuinely interested in the West Coast #DBU, to Minnesota and Virginia Tech? Anyone?
It should be pretty clear at this point that Ortiz did not have a commitable offer to UW, penn State, or Oregon. Riley going to VT is odd considering the offers he has.

Gotta wonder if either of those kids will actually end up at those schools. I say at least one doesn’t,

Latest article on Riley says he was about to commit (everyone assumed to Virginia Tech), but didnt pull the trigger and says he wants to slow things down and take his visits to UW, Oregon Notre Dame, and Va Tech.
