The basketball IQ on this team is so bad

McDaniels is so bad at any nuance of the game

It's beyond embarrassing. Do any of these guys work on their offensive game? Or even shooting fucking free throws? It's like they just practice Hop's shitty zone all day long.

They aren't even good at the zone either... So who knows what they are practicing...

It takes a special coach to lose to the cuog like this.

When you look like an underdog to WSU you can't coach here anymore.

Hop 100% deserves to be fired. Unfortunately our dipshit athletic department gave him a buyout too big to stomach right now. But holy fuck the dude cannot coach a functioning offense, the players seem to not know what the hell is going on, and even the zone sucks this year. That’s all coaching and it’s all an embarrassment. Matisse Thybulle and Jaylen Nowell covered up a lot of this shit.

    And Dickerson.

I didn’t include Dickerson, because Stewart more than replaces him, not because he wasn’t super important also. Hop found no one to do what those other guys could. The best he could do was get green but couldn’t even keep him eligible, which I also put on him and the rest of the staff. More than 3 strikes against Hopkins and somehow he’s still not out.

People love to blame coaches but hate to call things what they are

Carter makes a great move on his last miss ... but doesn’t do the fundamental of coming to a jump stop to get his balance

Instead of getting a controlled on balance shot he gets an off balance shot that barely draws rim

Will is all over him after the play about the jump stop

    Players got to make plays

Sure, you can pick out plays here and there and say that the players fucked something up. Of course, it happens often on all teams. However, on the aggregate this is on the coaches. What I see watching this team play on offense is that what they are doing is extremely rudimentary. Very little motion, very little moving without the ball, poor ball movement. Basically it’s either a wild out of control drive, a tough pass to Stewart, or a jump shot. None of that is good. So what’s the simpler explanation, nearly all the roster is made up of low basketball IQ players who cannot learn how to play intelligently and within a coherent system, or that the coaches have not effectively implemented one? I’ll roll with the latter.

10 points in the paint at halftime. Against WSU.

    Unacceptable.

    The players absolutely suck, agree.

Nowell still doesnt know how to do anything other than athlete, Hardy is a bench warming Pac12 PG, Tshonis shoots from his chest like a high school girl, Bey is the most Jag guy that has ever Jagged, Mcdaniels is constantly taking plays off and cant do anything other than be "long", wright has barely improved if at all, Timmons is a bench warming/practice center, Battle is a blackhole unadvised 3 pt shot, the zone defense sucks this year, the offense pretty much always sucks and consists of either Iso, low block or Horns...

At some point, if all the players suck, the guys who are staying arent improving, you aren't bringing in new superior talent for next year, the offensive scheme continues to suck, and the defensive identity is completely destroyed... its the coach's fault.

Exactly, wtf are they even doing in practice??

The offense is literally either ISO Stewart low block and then no movement so he gets doubled, ISO spread with a guard high, halfhearted Horns... THATS FUCKING IT... there is basically nothing else... which is fucking insane that there are shitty high school teams that run more efficient offensive sets than UW does.

The low block stewart is the most infuriating because teams have been doubling him for fucking months now and we still have the guards dropping the ball in and then either standing fucking still or backing up so far that they take themselves out of being a scoring threat and an outlet for Stewart... its the dumbest fucking thing I have ever seen.

Its obvious that the team basketball IQ is astronomically low but the offense has literally been 7th grade rudimentary levels all fucking year and they cant even do that correct.

This team is easily the worst shooting team in the conference, abysmal from 3 and every Pac 12 coach defends to that.

Only game they shot decent for a stretch was against Oregon in the first 3 or so quarters.

Ty just needed the players to execute. Holy shit dude. You’re recycling the biggest doog reasons we all have mocked for years.

Ty never showed any signs of success at UW ... but other than that your point makes a ton of sense (yawn)
