At this point the Cowboys are Notre Dame. A world class run of great football decades ago and a great brand with zero success in recent years.

Such has beens that you almost forget the has been. With every conceivable advantage other than a robust local recruiting base, which is more than made up for by name and media bias, their high water mark in my adulthood has been getting absolutely raped and embarrassed by Bamers and Clemson on the big stage. They have not done anything meaningful past December since slobbering Lou Holtz was manning the sidelines, and they weren't that great even then.

Everybody should stand in line to play them, because it's not a hard win and you get so much fucking credit for it. It's embarrassing. All of it.

    Cowboys? Who?

Except UW which is 0 fer against ND. Fucking Lambo. That was our best shot and Lou was still there. We played them under Ty as well so do the math

The 88 title was tainted. For sure.

Total taint. I know, I know, but the Wefs! That said, nobody can watch the Cleveland Gary non-fumble and the Wef standing right there looking at it and not tell me ND wasn't gifted a win at home. FTGs.

And in 1990, they split it with Colorado, and every single person in the country, whether they want to admit it or not, knew who the best teams were. At the end of the 1990 season, the two best teams in the country were Washington and Miami. The beat down of Texas in the Cotton, and all the shit that went on, is probably my favorite game in all of Hurricane history.

Notre Dame's run was luke warm water.

Every program has a team like that. ND has always had Washington's number. It's like Miami in the Fiesta Bowl ... there are ghosts involved.

Miami at least gets mostly forgotten about. That’s what happens when you have a pretty much non existent fan base.

Notre Dame gets talked about every year and has played for a natty and made the playoff even tho everyone knew they were pretenders with no chance.

Dallas’ Super Bowl talent is always hyped pretty much every year even tho everyone knows they don’t really have a chance.

This would be a smart move for Dallas. Dak isn't a winner and they could get some good picks and unload $30 million of cap to sign a defense for next year.
