Doesn't deserve its own thread but a conversation with Harv got around to Tone Loc sampling Jamie's Cryin. I had forgotten how awesome it was. Jamie's Cryin is one of my favorite songs and the fav VH song for me. The beat and the riff are gold.

On Joe Rogan's pod Dave was talking about the Latin beat influence to the opening drum riff. Said they had a lot of Latino influence as a LA band. Makes sense.
All Along the Watchtower by Hendrix is factually the greatest R&R cover of all time. It's not all that close either.
Dazed and Confused and When the Levee Breaks want a word with you in the 7-11 parking lot
Benatar's Wuthering Heights Juice Newton's Angel of the Morning
Dazed and Confused is like a double whammy.
Original Song by Jake Holmes > Yardbirds Version > Led Zeppelin.
Also Led Zeppelin's Dazed and Confused guitar solo (one of the best of all time in my opinion) was originally, almost note for note, in a Yardbirds song "Think About It".
Jimmy Page didn't waste anything he thought was good.

Won’t get a lot of votes here but their live version is better than the album version, which in turn is better than Seger’s
This version actually made me like a song that I previously didn’t like
