Read up on the Group B era of rally racing. Probably the last truly unregulated racing championship. Unlimited boost, crazy power. It was so dangerous that it only lasted four years before a driver fatality led the FIM to clip the series' wings.
The Group B cars were completely fucking awesome. There's a video called The Unfair Advantage about the Audi Quattro Group B and IMSA GTP cars and their development. The footage is fantastic.

I’m glad I was never an extreme bro. I used to hate riding with e-braking drifters back in the day.
I do a few of these "extreme" things, but I do them so poorly and slowly that it's not all that extreme. I want to put on a hat with a flat bill, chug two Monsters, and do a whip while clearing that triple, but that's kind of hard to do when you're afraid of heights... I want to drag elbow in a two wheel drift around the Carousel, but that's hard to do when your stiff joints and mangled shoulder won't cooperate--and you're shitty and lack the talent to pull it off. And you're poor and can't afford to repair yet another crash.
The biggest limiting factors to being an Extreme Bro are lack of early exposure (before rational fears develop) and lack of money. You can be the poor trash kid who develops skills as a fearless embryo, gets noticed, and then gets to play with cool toys or you can be the extremely rich guy who can afford to toss a lot of expensive metal down the road/trail until you get it right. There is really no in between.
Shit man. This was me in my HS parking lot in the mid 90s. I was a master of snow and ice rally driving.
Welcome to life at the G&R Compound.
Put the truck in the ditch last weekend trying to plow uphill around a corner. Lost momentum and slid backwards about 15 yards in the dark - it was either ditch or over the cliff.....so the Throbber cranked the wheel to the left and ditch was the big winner.

90 mph snow and ice driving does, though. Especially when there's a cliff. And trees and shit.
