Why the obsession over Gerald Alexander? Because he's good on Twitter? We already have 2 coaches who specialize in DBs. We don't need a 3rd.

Jimmy Lake should fire Hamdan and use the other open assistant position as a negotiating tactic to attract a good OC. Let the new OC pick out an assistant to bring with him.

I'd prefer to shift that open coaching spot to the offense since we have a defensive-minded head coach. We need all the help on offense we can get.

The reason for the hype is because Gerald is one of the best DB coaches in America right now and is a strong recruiter as well. Jimmy is a head coach now, he doesn't have time to teach the DB's anymore and while I like Will, he's not ready to take over that room. Gerald has proven that he can develop DB's and has a lot of established relationships in LA so getting him would be huge because going from Jimmy to Will in the DB room would be a big drop off.
