Also, comrades, the NFLization of college football is a prime example of the fact that the free market doesn't not always enhance our quality of life. We need to amend the Constitution to abolish the play off and require 4 years of ball in exchange for scholarships. Who's with me?

Nah. The free market says I can stop spending money on college football.
Nah, that just means west coast CFB will continue to go down the shitter. There's not enough of folks like us in the economy, Mikey. The NFL is king because we are a country mostly of mouth breathers and booger eaters. We got where we are today because these idiots had to have a Super Bowl for college football and REAL National Champion.

TV ad dollars made it so coaches could buy fancy boats and drink fucking lattes. Don James couldn't afford that shit.
So I can't stop spend my money on college football? Is this like Obamacare? If I like my college football, I can keep it. But they took a way my college football and I still have to buy it?
It's sad, really sad. We have to let the market do it's thing to have the highest standard of living, but the by product of this is that if a majority of consumers have shitty taste, you're gonna get shitty products.
Business will do what makes the most money, so playoffs make most money so they do them
Yep. But if it's all about money - which is how it's been trending for years - then we need to kill off the bowl system entirely since it's mostly waste of time, meaningless games that kids will sit out. There needs to be a 32 team super conference with an 8 teams play off. WSU, OSU, Arizona, etc can go have their own league with the Group of 5 teams.
Is this were the thread turns into "this is how I would do a playoff" discussion?
Not if we don't want it to. I'm just depressed that capitalism has killed college football.

Don’t think it would matter. The kids would fake injuries and sit out. The coaches would go along with it because they would get blasted and it would hurt recruiting if they didn’t. Not sure what to do about it. The players were always free to do it. It started, and isn’t going anywhere.

It killed it for you and I. But not for millions of retarded NFL types who are forking over cash for this shit.

In the longer run it could allow me to allocate resources elsewhere that will benefit me. So while I may grieve the loss of the game I loved, it could open up new endeavors.

At least I tell myself that.
