It was shocking at the time. First one was 1978 on the heels of his smash hits. He was the biggest star going

I always liked them though. It's like Nirvana unplugged.

I love almost every Clint film. Both of those movies were considered too slapstick for him but I love them. Even like Pink Cadillac

Unforgiven is a later later, May be the latest great Clint western.

That one above is a later, sans 1980’s late western. And a classic, IMO.
