What they heard and what they're hearing

Some of us have been saying it for a while now - Clay out, Urban in.
The next 7 days will allow for a lot of the rude, disrespectful naysayers (not you) to eat crow and - more importantly- hopefully apologize for how rudely they’ve been treating some of us who just want to share what we hear. Everyone wanted everything to happen right away, but this is a complicated process with a lot of moving parts.
I’ve verified what I’m hearing with about 6-7 other people FWIW....and a few of them were pretty adamant before this that Urban to USC just didn’t seem possible. But, they’ve changed their turn.
Obviously nothing is “done” until the ink is dry but it’s looking very, very, VERY good that Urban is replacing Clay after he’s fired in the next few days.
100% Meyer to USC. Bank it.
Gone for sure. I have not heard anything about It being today. I have consistently heard it will be announced officially tomorrow. regardless, he’s gone.
Here is what I KNOW to be true. Helton is getting fired, and Maya's only sin was breaking the story too soon. Apparently, his story hit before Bohn had a chance to get back to town to meet with Helton and then let the staff know. Bottom line, Helton is being let go sooner rather than later.
Further evidence of this is that the university has not issued any official response to the story. They just direct people to reporters who have said "no decision has been made." Yet they say nothing themselves.
Also, Urban is the top candidate and talks have already been ongoing for some time through back channels. I am not saying he is going to be the coach, but he is interested and talks have evolved on that front.
I trust the person who told me this, and that person is in the know. Take it for what it's worth, but Helton is gone.
I stand by my other posts and still feel and hear Helton is gone, done, decided and the official announcement Will be tomorrow.

FWIW - I have not heard anything contrary to what I shared last week, nothing. I know others on here havent either, but I dont speak for them. I am not backing off my Clay is gone, Urban is hired end result - This is what I have been told time and time again and until there is a "Clay is Retained" thread from GM or Ryan, I will trust these sources who have been on point. Others can trust who they want, simply sharing what ive heard.
MY OPINION: nothing in the past 24 hours has been substantial or even compelling enough to make me even worry clay has a chance at coming back. When he will be fired? I was told it was yesterday and then told it would be today. I havent been told it will pushed back but I havent been told it is confirmed for today either - I know that doesnt help answer any questions but I think everyone needs to understand that the silence is a good thing here. I think I can speak for 95% of the P when I say everyone wants it done now however Bohn will make the move when it is the right time to do it. Trust the guy.
