Eason isnt great. He is average with a big arm. He has made some dumb fucking decisions and has not willed the team to a single big win.
I think he has a lot of potential, but at this point he would benefit tremendously from another year because if he plays similar to how he does now in the NFL he is going to be terrible.
Ive also never seen a guy that big go down so easily. Watch some Big Ben film, Eason -
In every single loss he has had his team in position to win (even while self-destructing in the second half against Utah and against Beavis). He cannot "will" his receivers to catch perfectly thrown balls on 3rd down on critical drives. He cannot "will" his OC to not play him at fucking split end on third down.
Eason has played not-perfectly, just like every quarterback in the country. But this team--in spite of a broken defense against every team not called Oregon State--would have a single inexplicable loss to Stanford if drops were just reduced by 50%, let alone eliminated completely. That's "good enough" quarterback play in my book.
I think Eason is pretty much exactly what we expected him to be: Can make every throw and stretch the field, mostly immobile, will try fitting things in every once in a while that he shouldn't. On the list of reasons this team has four losses, Eason isn't top three. -

What a shitty article

When did ridiculing a couple cherry-picked cro-mag comments on the internet start to pass for journalism?
I'm just not seeing a big swell of negativity surrounding Eason. Which I think I'd notice, because I fucking love the guy. I will do cartwheels if Skinny returns for his senior year. But can we stop pretending there aren't 32 NFL GMs who'd kill or die to draft and develop a generational talent like his? -
Right now he is pretty average and I do think he’s soft. He should be a load to bring down despite not being mobile. He’s not.PostGameOrangeSlices said:Eason isnt great. He is average with a big arm. He has made some dumb fucking decisions and has not willed the team to a single big win.

I think with a good coaching staff he could be really good. He’s kind of what he’s always been. A lot of potential but you want and expect a little more. -
You say this is a cognitive bias echo chamber, but your post has received 4 upvotes, 2 chincredibles and 0 downvotes.Gwad said:
I know this isn't favorable in the cognitive bias echo chamber but he lost the Utah game.YellowSnow said:Where is all the this online hate of Eason that the guy is talking about? Consensus view seems to be that's he been pretty good at times, but made some mistakes and has room for improvement. Not anywhere near the Browning hate.

Eye of the beholder, I guess. I fear Jacob Sirmon's performance against Michigan's defense in September will change your perspective on what "pretty average" looks like.RoadDawg55 said:

I'll add, Roadie, that I agree with your take in another thread this a.m.:RoadDawg55 said:
We don’t have anyone else. We need Eason badly for next year. I do think we could be very good next year, but only if he’s the QB. I’m not going to buy in or doog about Sirmon or Morris.
I think coming back makes sense for both sides. Eason would be a top 2 round pick for sure right now. There is always a chance he goes really high because a QB needy team is desperate.
He can get rid of the doubts and cement himself as a top 10 pick next year with a good season. These struggles right now might end up being a good thing. -
No, Sirmon will just be bad if he’s starting vs Michigan. I have no confidence in him. If you play horrible against good competition in high school, it’s not happening in college.TTJ said:
