PFF does an okay job, but you can’t really grade a player when you don’t know the play call and their responsibilities. Did a CB get burned or did the safety fail to help. If the CB is running 10 yards behind, it could be because he saw the safety wasn’t there and was just trying to save a TD.
It’s pretty easy to grade misses tackles, blocks, drops, accurate throws, etc but a lot of nuances are missed.
The metrics here tell us what we know. Our WR’s have mostly been fine, but they have really hurt us at times with drops and the wrong guys playing. It takes no metrics to know the WR’s dropped a lot of passes and that Puka is better than Baccallia. -
