Stanford Gayme Grades Monday

Offense Overall: C
The run game was decent if the dumb coaches just stuck with it rather than motioning to an empty set for a tunnel screen for half the plays. The passing game is somehow worse than when Browning was the QB.

QB: C+
Eason was not elite. He had underthrows and now does a the weird browning spins. His WRs didnt help him at all but a truly Elite QB figures out how to get more than 13 points against 125th ranked Stanford defense. So far Eason is Elite in the same way Ahmed is Elite.

RB Overall: A-
Dick: A, Angry, pissed off, always forward, A lot of angry Polk in him. RIP.
Ahmed: B+, Nothing to complain about, solid, didn't get as many touches as he should have
Mcgrew: B-, meh

WTE: A
Otton as a RS sophomore looks great, moves well, good at blocking on the line, decent hands, please dont waste him like we did Sample and Dissly Dawg

BTE: D
Pathetic drops on 3rd down that should have either converted or scored, drive killing pointless block in the back. His worst game.

WR Overall: D-
Fuller: C, He shouldnt be relied on this much, he had a drop or two, it is what it is. idc
Everyone else: F, They suck, completely pointless to be on the field, you have nothing to lose pete by playing someone, ANYONE, else.

OL: B-
Opened up holes in the Run game decently enough, not spectacular but just fine. Pass blocking was a mess. Stanford regularly generated pressure with 3 and 4 man rushes.

Defense Overall: C-
The parts are greater than the sum... Sure the LBs are nonexistent but there are problems across all the position groups. The DL and DBs are covering for the shit LBs but there seems like there is a distinct lack of a bigtime difference maker in both the DL and DB/Safeties we have had in the past. Also they gave up a shitton of yards and points to Stanford using a intramural OL and Taylor Bean as their QB. Bryant is the only one that plays up to the standard of UW defense the past few years. Some of the worst tackling since 2008. How many times did WE stand up the running back but then Stanford somehow pushed the pile forward another 3-5 yards? It’s like we are actively trying to avoid injuring the other team by tackling way to high, not driving through, and avoiding taking out the legs at all costs.

IDL: B
This unit is fine but not great, There is no Greg Gaines or Virta Vea but it holds up fine most of the time.

Edge/DL/OLB: C-
Potato is one dimensional as a run stopper and I guess thats about it. Tryon wins the underwear Olympics but sucks. Bowman isnt completely horrible at times given what he is. They cant generate a pass rush on their own without help from a blitzing LB, nickel, or safety. They did nothing basically playing against true freshman and guys Stanford grabbed from the stands.

ILB: F
Completely pointless to even have on the field. Manu is unatheltic, Wellington is a soft pussy that people wanted to start ahead of BBK, Sirmon is garbage, atleast Latu seems like he might be decent someday... I am serious, we need to be playing with 5 DL and 6 DB on the field with Asa, Byrant, McKinney, Molden, or Taylor across the second level where the LBs normally are at times. It would atleast improve the athleticism and versatility of the defense. The entire idea of DL keeps LB clean and funnels everything to them to make the play needs to completely change. It wont work this year and it probably wont work next year either.

DB: B-
Molden got the abuse Bryant got a few years ago, the safety play is not that great. Some of the corners seem to be playing well as freshman. Tackling is a mess. Byrant is the only one I actually trust and at 5'4" is the hardest hitter in the secondary.

Playcalling: F, Fuck off
Time Management: F, timeout before 4th down, fuck off
Personnel management: F, Still not playing the WRs, fuck off
Overall Coaching: F, Fuck off

All UW needed was for UW to turn in a B- effort on offense and defense and WE win against a shit Stanford team. Instead everyone except the RBs and WTE played down (or worse) to the competition, and the coaching shit the bed. Going forward the offense still seems like it should have the pieces there to hope the problem gets fixed, the defense is completely fucked.
