I know it's been fashionable to hate on Pool Boy, and the Sark hire was definitely BabsFS... But at least he's not PatHadenFS and hiring a known failure.
Anyway, I'm going to give Woody credit. Time and again, he's managed to pry open the wallets and UW and get the job done:
Highest paid coach in the Pac12 - Check
Highest paid assistants in the Pac12 - Check
Fancy-ass stadium renovations - Motherfucking Check.
Outside of Oregon, I don't see other schools making that sort of commitment. USC is paying less than we are, and their stadium sucks. UCLA might have retained Mora, but their stadium improvements are like $50mil, not $300mil. Cal is a dumpster fire, and no one cares about the Arizona schools.
Petersen might not be the guy, LIPO. But WoodyPoolBoyFS is doing it right. He's cracking open that wallet and buying his way into big boy football. Now we just need to send out some fruit baskets to some recruits, and hire some sketchy recruiting services, and we'll be on our way.
