Your Bedtime Schadenfreude

Quooks:

- Well Tennessee has tanked, WSU was never a possibility and he is no FUNA (ranking or not) so UW it is!

- We're still in on some big names. If we get 2 out of Sewell, Flowe, Ringo, I'd be ecstatic, no matter where we compare with UW. One thing that sucks is that Seattle metropolitan area HS football has got some really nice prospects the next few years. If UW can put up a fence, they'll continue to be a contender. But so will we I believe.

- Good for him, we will see, when Jimmy Lake gets hired away this spring I hope he still wants to play there

- It will be interesting to see if this one sticks. From the beginning it sounded like mom wanted him close to home at Washington but he wanted to get away from home. The SEC was his target, but Oregon was a compromise between staying at home and going across the country. If he really wanted to get away but family is convincing him to stick around this could turn into a Devon Williams case.

- If they had passed us as a numbers game, that’s be one thing. But same amount of kids and they are ahead. That’s what bugs me. We are at 8 4* and 12 3*, while they are at 1(5*),9(4*),and 9(3*) with a 2* (kicker I believe). They are just out recruiting us right now and it bugs the hell outta me.

- Given that it seems like mom and family played a big role, this is not likely, but imagine if they lose to USC (I don't think so, but USC has still got some horses) and then we beat them, and JImmy Lake goes for a HC job, well you never know. Keep 'crutin him!!! If we've learned anything today, it aint over till it's over and even then it's not over! LOL

- Watch him flip on signing day.

- Maybe they sold him on winning the PAC 12, having a great coach, and being in Seattle.

- I think it should be noted that despite the same number of kids and them having more blue chip players, our average recruit rating is exactly the same (89.29), and it took a 5 Star to get them to the same avg rating as us. They’re top heavy and our class is more well rounded. Plus If we do end up with Sewell our class seems will be back on top. I’d take our class over theirs in my opinion.

- If I’m a betting man, I’d say this one still has a few twists and turns left.

- Personally, I thought he was overrated as a 5 star. Would have been nice to get him, for sure, but I don't think he's a game changer. I would be surprised if he ends up as an all conference guy. Feel free to hold this post against me in 3-4 years. (Just for the record, I said this when he was an Oregon lean, so this is not just sour grapes).

- Eerily similar to the Devon Williams situation. Seems to be a parents vs Sav’ell situation. Again, I predict a few more developments here.

I dont know if it was included in OPs list but the best comment i saw on their site was something like "the only reason I'm really pissed about UW getting Smalls is this means they will probably beat us in recruiting rankings"

Oregon would claim victory even if we won the Natty and they ended up with a higher rated recruiting class.

    But wait. Theres more

-You could make an argument that UW and Oregon's classes were close last year, even though there is a large gap of teams between the two classes. But Oregon's guys are already making noise this year, legitimate 1st round blue chip prospects all over on defense. UW's cycle might develop guys into that level, but most of their recruits don't appear to have that ceiling, and many won't see the field for a couple years.

    It's an interesting to dilemma.

Petersen's program took three years to build, then they actualized their program in 2016. They won 76-21 inside Autzen, while some of Oregon's in state prospects committed to UW after that game. (Or something like that, I forgot).

UW should always be a top 15 team, if they're not that's not good for Oregon.

We're entering year two of Cristobal's program, with a noticeably better team than UW. UW does not look good right now vs. USC in the first quarter, that might change but USC's defensive line is breaking down UW's front.

-Just because he is a top 5 player does not mean he would not see that as a steep hill to a starting spot with our 2 LB and a STUD defense. Where as Washington seems like a lot easier task to crack into the starting lineup with much less talent fighting for 3 or 4 spots.

-This is going to sound terrible but watching him on local news tonight and a brief interview with him after he announced at a school assembly for the Army All-American game................he isn't an OKG for Oregon. Washington got him and I'm sure they are happy with him. But this kid is pretty happy with himself as well.

-He's a top five player in the country. If he's worried about having to compete…then we don't want him.

-If Smalls doesn't sign by December he's ours. Just watch
