I’m hearing the constitution is a quaint, outdated document that needs to be revised to reflect our modern society. Things like the electoral college and 2nd amendment are proof of that. That’s just what I hearing so don't be a twister.

I am not an advocate for frequent changes in laws and Constitutions. But laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors.

So what part of the constitution is outdated?

The term “more enlightened” is interesting. It’s subjective and can easily be used to enable elites to infringe on the rights of individuals.

    Agreed.

Many people are saying that the ability to amend it is part of what makes it so great.

It's a tremendous constitution. People are always saying how tremendous it is. Really a great document.

    It’s a process.

    It’s hard.

Here is an example of liberal thought. The first 10 amendments can't be changed. Ever. HTH
