The Throbber has done quit a bit of work in the cannabis industry (aside from edible consumption). Still somewhat skeptical on the magical claims of CBD. Most certainly there is a placebo effect but, personally, have not experienced any noticeable benefit from the use of the product.

If CBD helps Gronk be Gronk, praise be.

I think it depends on the type of pain and your body type. My buddy who is a pharmacist. His wife has had back pain since the 90s, she's never been able to work because of it, she could barely hold a conversation, and she was crazy addicted to oxy and shit. He took her to the pot shop about 18 months ago and got her CBD stuff. She now actually wakes up before noon, is coherent and uses about 1/3 of the drugs she used to use every month.

I don't know, it doesn't do much for me for to each their own.

I know it works for some people. I have witnessed the behavioral and physical changes in two friends with cancer and another with horrible back pain that comes and goes without notice but leaves him flat on his back for days after it shows up. They all swear by it.

Trust me. There's a LOT of snake oil salesmen out there.

There's some crazy science/chemistry behind getting proper CBD isolate. "A Beautiful Mind" shit. But since it's currently unregulated by FDA, there's a host of manufacturers who give no shits about quality or science other than slapping a CBD label on some capsules or producing some lotions or tinctures.

Like I said, IRL I've done some work on CBD outfits - had about an hour long conference call yesterday with a cannabis company. There are legitimate companies, there are scams. Same for the products. Absorption rate is about 6%, so it takes a SHITLOAD to have appreciable results. And, for now, the stuff ain't cheap.

The industry is going to end up like dot.com bust. Lots of posers. Huge shakeout of pretenders happening as we speak.

I have tried about every form of CBD with no result for chronic pain.
The only success I have had is with a topical application for muscle spasms of a product that also contains THC.
After 15 years of hydros and oxy I'm willing to try most anything.
The crackdown on drugs I rely on to function has me very concerned.

Do you think there is some merit to the "real" CBD products out there having benefit or do you attribute most of the benefits to placebo affect even with the good quality CBD products?

From what I remember THC will actually help the CBD to process in your system and do what it does. Doesn't have to be enough to remotely get you "high" but it will show up on a drug test.

Wife uses some "rilly rill" CBD from a trusted vendor for her chronic pain from years as a D1 sprinter. We have a lot of friends in the actual "industry" and so have a pretty good idea of who is cutting corners and who is dedicated to quality.

Lots of reading and personal experiences lead me to the belief that CBD does have lots of benefits for chronic pain/nausea but not the 10,000 other things advocates claim it does.

YMMV but pm me if you want a recommendation for a California vendor. Can't speak for Washington. Might have an Oregon recommendation.

I'm not a medical expert so can't say definitively. It's all about the Benjamins to the Throbber. There are certain 'soothing' effects of other ingredients in things like lotions and salves - like the menthol/minty shit they put in icy hot.

I do know there is variance in the science and level of expertise between the various players in the industry. Lots of posers. LOTS of posers. The chemistry is mind-boggling. I've been in a guy's office and his whiteboard looked like something out of "A Beautiful Mind".

Caveat emptor at this stage of the game, bitches.

    dot.com shit

There's quite a few that lost their shirts too. The big boys like Tilray and Aurora, early guys made jack. But there are hundreds of microcaps in the space. Money came flooding in and most of them pissed it away. Now the easy money to grow a business is gone - the money guys want to see detailed plans, execution and relatively quick cash flow positive operations.

It's a shit show right now. Carnage.

Can confirm. Why I have a med card in CO. Rec and retail was all over the place in quality and price.

The only CBD that works for me are the sublingual tabs, and the 50:50 gummies by Wana. Beware of the dispensaries that wont show you the grow house and/or labs...

Still have titanium hardware in my arm and hip from multiple Bankhart and labrum (both) repairs from 20 years ago. Only way I could stay active before CBD was a tight rotation of pain meds, ice and ibuprofen overdoses. Even used it post operation last summer on a minor shoulder scope.

The anti inflammatory properties far outweigh the pain relief for my personal orthopedic issues. Especially after a hard workout or over use.

Thanks, my current treatment is somewhat beyond that.

I do think there's some anti inflammatory value. Some of the rest of the claims...nah, not so much.

The Throbber had some CBD 'sleep aid' candies. They didn't do shit. More vodka. So the dude who manufactured them gave me his 'special THC sleep aid' candies.

I was stoned to the bejesus. Fell asleep like a baby and woke up with remnants of Taco Bell and Cheetos all over my face.

It works for inflammatory issues. Real edibles work for munchies, too. I prefer the CBD isolate, but you have to deal with 0.5mg per dose, kinda like Odouls beer for alcoholics.

One can literally see and watch the transformation in my hands, wrists and shoulder after not using it.

Without CBD and chasing 3 little Em's, coaching soccer and baseball, building race cars at night...the inflammation returns in 48-72 hrs and pain the day after. Then the pain med and ice cycle begins.

Much worse than the stoned at Taco Bell cycle for me.

Remove the inflammation and 3/4 or 81% of the orthopedic issue is gone... e.g. one can use the limb like normal.

I can get any narcotic needed with an X ray request at an orthopedic clinic. CBD is more effective without fucking you or your life up.

    Your results may differ. 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️
