To follow up, Blair says UW has not been in that much contact with Wynden recently.

Not sure what to make of this.

So we let Julien Simon go to USC for basically nothing if what Blair is saying is true.

I swear, UW coaches just decide to take spring off every year. They stop recruiting in the spring and try to come roaring back. Its gotta be 247, 365 days. Why make it harder for yourselves? Just keep pushing on the recruiting trail. Instead they take the springs off, post random skeleton photos, like thotties on instagram and tell the fans to calm down because they are going to flip everybody.

I don’t think it was taking time off this year so much as having a coherent strategy.

This. At some positions (DB, TE) we're just throwing offers out all over the place (but not offering a top 100 guy who has interest in UW) and at others (ILB, WR) we're being super-choosy and turning kids away only to need to come back to them later when they've soured on UW.

Eklund finally addressed Wynden and pulled the old "UW would like to take him but they might not have room so they backed off but they may revisit him later". I understand the numbers thing. We took 4 ILBs last year and had a walk on step up and earn a scholarship. However, you take talent when you can get it. Last years LB debacle was due to attrition and injuries. You're telling me it was really important that we take Caiden Jumper and Robert Wyrsch early but we can tell Julien Simon, Junior Alexander, Wynden, etc. that we are still evaluating them and will get back to them in a few months if we need them.

247 shows how many players each school has at that position. For some reason it shows uw has 10 freshman ILB’s. If true that is going to create an issue for a while.

And glad to see the Helfrich recruiting model is going strong at uw.

We've signed 5 ILBs in the last two classes (redshirt freshman and incoming freshman)

    Heimuli
    Calvert
    Ah You
    Bruener
    McDonald

I might be missing somebody but here's no way we are close to ten.

Heimuli, Calvert, Bruener, McDonald, Tuputala, Lolohea, and Trice make it 10 freshman ILB

Ah You is listed as a sophomore
    Smalls listed as DE
