Along with the news of Keith Heyward heading to SC with Sark, this tells me Wilcox is not a candidate. If he was even in the running, he would be the shoe-in interim HC. Also, if Wilcox is not a candidate, neither is Nussmeier. Wilcox would have at least gotten a look had he been an option, but that's clearly not the case and Woodward is looking outside the coordinator world. Very good news IMO.
Couple names I've heard mentioned along with the obvious Petersen, Deruyter, etc. are Bill O'Brien from PSU and Gary Patterson from TCU. I'd go full-doog for Gary Patterson.
Goes along with what I've been thinking/saying the whole time. Woodward's gonna pull something nobody expected out of his ass and make a big name hire.
Also Wednesday, UW defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox was scheduled to interview with Woodward, the Los Angeles Daily News reported.
Adam Jude reports also Wednesday, UW defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox was scheduled to interview with Woodward, the Los Angeles Daily News reported.
Jude is really slacking off during this whole process. Relying on a Los Angeles Daily News report for someone in his own backyard
It would cool to see Tui get the win and then maybe get a small hc gig somewhere or an OC at a mid major maybe. That guy was as competitive as it got and I think way down the line he could be a good coach.

IMO Jood isn't going to last very long in Seattle.
let's get back on point to the original poster's comment... Woody will pick someone nobody's expecting and something out of his ass... I believe we saw that move when Sark was selected. I really don't have much faith in our little Woodytard.

I think the Sark hire was more Emmert, less Woodward. I'm willing to LIFPO.
I don't think that there's any chance Patterson's in play ... he's making coaching changes to his staff right now as it goes.
His team was incredibly snake bitten this year. Outside of the Texas loss, every single loss they had in conference was as much tied to their lack of QB play and mistakes as anything else. Lots of adversity this year.
The biggest thing that Patterson is struggling with in the Big 12 is that in each of the last 2 years he really hasn't had a QB capable of playing at a high level in a major conference. Until he's able to recruit a high end QB, he'll have issues competing at the high end of the conference.
However, anybody that questions how his teams play defense, that's 100% translated over to the Big 12.

This guy's got Horned Frog football fully dialed in.
I would be fine with Patterson, but he did come off as a bitch for the shit about Baylor and not suspending some guy that got arrested, just like he did with the LSU RB. He needs to worry about his own fucking team.

Even mentioning Bill O'Brien makez you an ignant buttfuck right out of the gate. Sheesh

You can't fault Woody for aiming high
Fuck Baylor.
