Legit questions about contracts
For any house lawyers, and even those who pretend to be general counsel for major corporations.
Regarding Wilcox ... can UW force him to honor his contract, even if he shows up with a suitcase stuffed with one million dollars?
Or can they force him to stay regardless of the buyout.

I'm not a labor lawyer per se, but this one is easy: no. The courts view it as against public policy to force someone to work. It's in the same solar system as slavery and we all know that we stay at least two solar systems away from that.
Also, it's akin to making a breeding ground for other problems. People sandbagging etc.
In these situations it's all about legal (not injunctive) remedy: $$
Think we are holding them ransom until we get paid.
If he don't stay, he must pay
Even a pretend lawyer like me knows that.
What I meant, and should have been more clear about, is can they make him sit out until his contract ends ... by not releasing him.
