The list included Oregon Ducks pledge Jay Butterfield, the nation’s No. 2 pro-style quarterback, Seven McGee, a class of 2021 Oregon commit who is rated the nation’s No. 2 running back, as well as five-star wide receiver Johnny Wilson and Jesuit High School and California linebacker commit Andy Alfieri.”
After being asked if comparisons between McGee and former Oregon star De’Anthony Thomas are accurate, Johnson said: “No, you’re right. Because you said that about a year ago and I took notice then when you said that, and I’ve been watching him since then as well.
Johnson also took note of Oregon’s recruiting success, not only regarding recruits’ football talent, but also their character: “Oregon is doing a really good job. They are really getting the right guys, guys that aren’t going to do something stupid off the field, that will continue to get better each and every year. When you are getting these high-profile recruits that also are legit people, that’s going to be a big win in the end.”
