Really like this kid, I think he's pretty underrated despite playing at Bosco. Didn't think we would offer him at this point
Wonder if this an offer where we will push hard for him or if it’s to get the ball rolling with Esteen, Covington, etc.
Angulo said Oregon is getting a commit tomorrow and most think it’s him. Something about him wanting to commit on his grandma’s birthday. I am curious if he isn’t a take that he would go ahead and go forward with the announcement.
Smith is an Oregon lean and nearly committed earlier but wanted to visit Washington and said an offer from the Huskies would be a game changer for him. He didn't make the visit but just got the offer via facetime so it will be interesting to see how this one develops.
He barely played last year. He's a high upside kid because of his frame and he's a solid athlete but I would like to see him start a game before he gets a ratings bump.

I was wondering if that had to do with the timing of the offer. I was thinking it could be to jump an Oregon commitment, or to put pressure on the DBs who recently visited.
Smith said in a recent interview that he's visiting UW July 25th. No Oregon for their SNL camp. Also said in the interview that he's up to 6'2 188 and looks like he has long arms. He also said he has already visited Michigan and Penn State and those schools offered before UW so he's not a total hidden gem. It appears we like him a little more than Paster. Just have to trust the coaches on this one because he was stuck behind McDuffie and Steele last season for Bosco and won't be a full time starter until this season so his Junior film is a little light on big plays but shows the athleticism and movement ability we're looking for. We also got a crystal ball for him recently from JHOP. Looks like he's our guy to hopefully bring in with Hector at corner. For those wondering, Covington is a SS and Esteen is a FS for UW. Going to be a very tall, long, and big DB class if we get those four guys.
Awesome! I really like his film, he's just really smooth and fluid. He could easily have a monster year as a full time starter. He's been all dawg on twitter since we offered.
yeesh, it's almost like Peterman and company still get off on the whole "hidden gem" thing.
But yeah ... swing that big dick for the JTT's ... and find hidden gems too... balance that class. Can't have all 4*/5* kids otherwise you'll be getting too much attrition and movement/transfers and distractions (like yankoff/sirmon ...) and that gives Peterman an allergic reaction ..
It will be a Northwest Pac-12 battle between rivals Oregon and Washington for Smith. The talented corner said a few other schools are still hanging around but this one is essentially down to the Ducks and Huskies.
“Yeh, that’s my final two right now,” Smith said over the weekend at the Mission Viejo 7v7 Passing Tournament. “I’m still talking a little with Penn State and I like Cal too. The degree from Cal is big but Washington and Oregon are the main two I’m focusing on.”
Smith visited Oregon for the Spring Game and will check out Washington later this month.
“I’ll be there July 25-28,” Smith said. “I’ve never been to Washington before so I’m excited to get out there. They just offered me last month and that was a huge one for me because I’ve always liked Washington and how well they develop defensive backs.
“They get players to the League (NFL) and that what everyone wants, it’s definitely my goal. They have a great staff and I like coach Lake and coach Harris and how close they work together. When you have the DC and the DB coach working that close together, it’s pretty special. I’ve heard so many great things about the school and the campus so I'm really looking forward to it."
Smith has a special relationship with the Oregon coaching staff, which is a big reason why they’re so high on his list.
“Donte Williams is my guy,” Smith said. “We have a great relationship that goes beyond football. He’s someone I can call anytime to just talk about anything and I feel he’s someone that I can always go to and he’ll be there for me.
“Coach Cristobal is the same way. He has an open door policy where you can go to his office any time to talk and I have a great comfort level there. They have been recruiting me for a long time and I loved it when I was there for the Spring Game. I like the culture there and what they’re building and I fit in really well there.”
Smith said he’s planning to make a summer decision.
“I will either be in late July or early August,” Smith said. “I think after I visit Washington, I’ll have a good idea of what I want to do. The plan is to come home after the Washington visit, take some time to sort everything out and then make the decision that I feel is best for me and my future.”
Another Oregon versus UW head-to-head battle means he's a UW lock. Lol Biggins said "it's too close to call right now". Why does he hate UW?
Biggins is a massive twat
Biggins is good at his job and the only reason west coast recruits get the credit they deserve on 247.
The TBS universe would be much worse without him.
He clearly has a bias against UW. Won't crystal ball anybody to UW unless he hears they committed to the coaches. He's always pandering to Oregon fans. He assured Oregon fans Pittman was a UW take when he clearly wasn't. He tweeted a dig at Petersen's OKG thing. Fuck that guy.

I missed that. You have the link?
Generally speaking the only UW fans who hate Biggins are massive doogs. He's been very fair to us through the years.

If he does, he'll be good.

Sounds like he just wants to make sure there is no issues with the local weather and public transit options before he commits.
