    Southern Cross >>> Southern Men

Disagree as no one wrote a song to refute Southern Cross. Southern Man (and Alabama) drove "Sweet Home Alabama". In which the response of "Powderfinger" was create to easy the peace.

Sweet Home Alabama is the single most overrated rock song evar, and this is coming from a Skynyrd fan

CSN was better without Y. No Y in Judy Blue Eyes or Southern Cross, and those are their best two songs by a cuntry myle
Y's best work was always outside of CSNY so I don't place much stock this argument.

I think SHA is terrific song (prolly not LS's best though) but it's a victim of classic rock radio formatting playing the same 500 songs over and over.

    Ritchie Furrray - Poco

    Neil and Stephen Stills

I was thinking of a thread on bands that became legendary after they broke up

BS is near the top of that list

Neil Young and Stephen Stills really did hate each other which is sad since they were Lennon and McCartney

    Cream
    The Jimi Hendrix Experience

You could also add Led Zeppelin even though they were huge before Bonzo died and they packed it in

Yeah LZ doesn't belong on that list

They were a super group when they were together

I'll never forget the second time I saw them and there were kids there for Stairway to Heaven who had no idea what they were going to get

STH is to this day top 5 on the classic rock all time list as far as popularity. Most Zepp heads consider it top 40 pop music which it was.

    Skinnerd is red neck shit.

You're a retard too. The suite is ok, and Southern Cross is a pretty nice story about getting dumped. The best things those pussies ever recorded were all with Young though. Carry On and Woodstock are the two best songs rather easily, and neither would have ever happened without Neil as the other three fags had no idea how to make rock and roll music.

Ohio is the greatest CSNY song and it's not close

Yeah a case could be made...

I just didn't want to type out three song names.

But I always think of as more of a Neil Young solo song even though it's CSNY. It just sounds very different to my ears.

Kent State was a seminal event in my life at the age of 14. I still pour out a sip on May 4.

I used to set my speakers pointing out my window and blast Ohio

The guitar work is incredible. It is Neil. He wrote it in about 10 minutes
