Oregon was out of it with Kayvon until his visit. DJ was a lottery ticket. He had the talent to make the gamble. Worked for Kayvon, not for DJ. But even if you get 1 in 10 of a Hail Mary, it makes the Hail Mary worth it.

Given how pore the middle class of QB recruits are this year, you take yore best shot on Ukulele. Then, you take yore best shot at Butterfingers. Then, you go through first couple of games of senior to see if anyone has gotten significantly better.

If we offered and wanted Butterfield he'd already be committed to UW. Oregon is far down the pecking order for QB recruits.
