Browning: shooting in the dark

Through numerous interviews of late Browning has said he had been searching for answers to improve arm strength. That no one was providing a path to a stronger arm that he was shooting in the dark. It wasn't until he went down to California to work with 3DQB. They figured out he wasn't correctly using his lower body with his throwing mechanics. He was able to improve his throwing velocity to 54 mph which matched the Jones & Lock. (Haskins 52mph) Let's see the velocity with Frank Clark barrelling down on him.

This raises so many questions. What was the UW coaching staff doing to help? They couldn't identify his poor mechanics? Do they need a QB specialist? Why didn't he seek out this help earlier in his career? I thought Socha was elite for strentgh training? Browning also claims to be workout warrior? That is really hard to believe.

Rumor has it that "training table" is essentially cafeteria food. You have a coaching staff and the AD combining for 7 million in pay but you are feeding these guys slop? Guys decide senior year they are going to stop eating Taco Bell? But the alternative is hall food? At least there is coconut water?

Obviously there are tweaks and throwing mechanisms you can adjust, but I always thought arm strength was like pitching speed in baseball. You generally have it or you don't, no?

Yes, but Browning's camp is essentially saying he was never taught how to throw the ball correctly so his true velocity was never seen.

Like spinning it to the Mariners it wasn't his fault for pitching underhand rec league softball style for the Raineers in a desperate plea for a call up.

Something changed. His ball velocity matched Jones & Lock at the combine. (54mph)

The training table food is slop but somehow the rowing team continues to crank out team national titles and V8 near misses.

Vorel needs to earn some street cred and ask peterman if the issue was that the qb was never given proper training or if he brushed it aside.

He won’t, peterman would never give a truthful answer.

Either we’re looking bad or shitsocks is looking bad and right now shitsocks is making dickman and bush look bad.

UW’s poor Development and nutrition really screwed over McGary, Murphy, Sample, Rapp, Gainsey, BBK, Miller and Gaskin
    You’re 💯 right!

Though we question some of those shit stains recruiting abilities, most have proven they can coach.

Fuck Lubbock for what happened with WR’s and hopefully jr can fix that BUuuuuuUUuTtttt who gets blamed for the lack of qb development? You can’t give kudos to the coaches for the 8 drafted and not acknowledge the failure of qb play.

I’m calling out dickbush for this debacle.

Yes, the change was no defenders to give him brain lock or chase him 20 yards backwards...without a choice to make and with no adversity he showed average arm strength...as soon as he is in live action he'll revert to his below average arm strength and poor decision-making that we saw in every game with a modicum of pass rush.

I read somewhere Bush tried to get Brownsocks to go to 3DQB before his senior year and according to Browning it just didn’t work out.

Of course with Bush shiteing the bed with Sirmon/Yankoff I think that’s as much of an indictment on him as it is Browning.

I'm so happy to have Browning fuck off forever. The vikings will soon find out what everyone in Seattle already knows. Lousy player, worse attitude. How can someone that shitty be so entitled?

    F Jake...from the Athletic:

    https://theathletic.com/853487/2019/03/06/washington-huskies-nfl-combine-jake-browning-byron-murphy/

Browning said he first learned about 3DQB through UW offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan, and tried to arrange a trip there before his senior season but “it just kind of didn’t work out.” He said as soon as the Huskies defeated Utah in the Pac-12 Championship Game, he began making plans to train there.

It is pretty much illegal for Hamdan or anybody on the coaching staff to spend tons of time (2 months straight, probably 30 hours a week) with Jake in the off-season to correct his throwing motion and teach him how to throw. Bush deserves a boatload of blame for the crappy offenses, completely mismanaging the QB room, and all sorts of stuff, but he specifically introduced Jake to 3DQB and tried to get him to go down there before the 2018 season to work on his arm. Jake didn't put in the time/effort...specifically said “it just kind of didn’t work out”, and is now throwing the people who tried to get him to improve himself under the bus.

    Lazy @ss...

yes, because Jake Browning already thought he was not the problem. As soon as the draft grades came in and his future options were "get drafted or sell insurance" he went to a QB camp and started a narrative about throwing frozen ropes now that he finally learned how to throw. Again, fuck that guy.

Tyee should not be responsible for supporting the training table. When you serve a large number of athletes you simply cannot provide high-quality food en masse. Most of it is highly processed foods so it doesn't spoil. I have seen the food, and I have seen the food before game day.

Yes, agreed college kids are going to eat shitty food. 100%. Unavoidable. Plus it is cheap. To do a proper supplement regimen and quality food is very expensive. People would be very surprised how little additional income student-athletes have.

The limited time spent with the kids is certainly an issue. UW needs to hire a QB coach. That is crystal clear.
