They state that had Miami beaten UW they would have been the first team to beat two number 1's and a number 2. Had they beaten UW though It's likely that neither OU nor Virginia Tech would have secured their ranking because UM would have been ahead of them. Florida State was the only team ranked ahead of their #4 ranking at the time of the loss in Seattle. Cool story bro, but if you're dealing in hypotheticals play out the fucking string. Even a guy who bags groceries can figure this shit out. Had UW beaten UCLA in '90 we would be the proud owners of two half national championships. Cry me a river.

The bigger fuck up for the Canes was the Ohio State loss in the Fiesta Bowl. Miami always loses the Fiesta Bowl
With a back to back natty that three year run is the best ever regardless of the loss to UW. UW should NOT have kept Miami out of the title game that year
Anyway one title in a three year run keeps them under valued as a dynasty -

USC basically had a 3-Pete wiped off the board too. 2003 (screwed by BCS but still voted #1 AP), 2004(vacated but won DGAF), 2005 (CHOKED the big one in the greatest college game I've seen). -
