This story sounds very familiar. A group of self righteous zealots are threatened by a man that appears to have a large following. The people believe in him and the zealots fear that the man is a threat to their way of life. The zealots accuse the man of a crime. A tribunal is held, but the zealots don’t have to power to deal with the man, so they give the case to a higher power. Following an investigation, The higher power gives the case back to the zealots because no crime occurred. The zealots then agree to sacrifice the man because of their anger and fear.

This story is one we have heard our entire lives and by no means am I equating the president to Jesus, but if there’s no crime, there is no reason to sacrifice the person.
