By the same token, Oregon improved from 7–6 in 2017, Cristobal's first year, to 9–4 after Feld’s hire. How much credit does Feld deserve? In October, when Oregon faced Washington—the Pac-12’s best-conditioned team, by reputation, which had made the Ducks look pillowy soft the previous two seasons—Oregon certainly looked like the fresher squad in overtime. That's when its offensive line blasted open a massive hole on third-and-goal from the six-yard line for running back C.J. Verdell to punch in the winning score.
Defensive formation and back to back road games vs a team coming off a bye had nothing to do with it. And his awesome strength training totally made our shit kicker shit the bed, not to mention our conservative play calling at the end of regulation.
Anyway, Feld is basically strength coach Sark. Average to slightly above average at his job, but markets himself to be written about by lazy sportswriters and perceived to be really good and therefore get paid accordingly. I can respect that hustle. I see through that shit, but I still respect the hustle.

As far as I'm concerned he's doing a fabulous job for the enemy.
It's not what I would necessarily want but perception is reality in this culture so yeah ...
