“When the planet has been in peril in the past, who came forward to save the Earth from the scourge of Nazi and totalitarian regimes? We came forward. Who came forward to save the planet or continents from financial ruin? We came forward with the Marshall Plan,” he said.

Since he voted "present" yesterday and didn't even have the balls to vote in favor of what he compared to fighting the Nazis, can we now accuses him of being agnostic on opposing the Nazis?

    I've been mocking Booker et al for the same reason. Its a good point. If you're going to sell fear and imminent death you need to at least pretend you mean it.

    Not sure why you can't come up with an intelligent response. Seems like a legit point

    I'm being facetious and, yes, of course, Roosevelt wanted to deal with Hitler first and Japan second. 80% of the war effort went to the ET after all.

    The basis behind the GND is what the country needs. If we don't start to make changes, another 20 years will go by and we will not be ahead of the rest of the world. That is my actual concern, oil is cheap and what we've always done, so let's continue to do that. Very little incentive to innovate. We became the biggest economic power on the basis of our freedom to innovate.

    There are things like natural gas that can and should be powering cars, they are all over India. But because oil has everything locked down, we won't innovate and produce natural gas cars.

    That and Obama is a pussy and let India and China off on their responsibility to reduce emissions. Fuck them, they need to get their shit together.
