I guess I don't understand why private schools were even caught with their pants down like this. Aren't their admissions standards the type of thing they can just write whatever policy they want for?
I wondered the same thing. @insideUSC said it is quite common to write a check to get junior in the gate.
This was definitely the joke back in the day both before, during, and after my time in college. University of $poiled Children. I know USC's admission standards had gone up but I don't understand how legally they are prevented from just taking a big enough check to waive those standards and why all the extra steps of bribery that definitely are illegal. What prevents them from having a special class of "donor, ring of honor" blah blah blah we cut a check for that dormitory wing admission? Federal funding or something?
This method was for the parents who had a lot of money but not enough money to just write a check to pay for a building or whatever.

Internet keyboard warriors make it so easy. I would like to see them put on a suit and forge a couple tests if it’s so fucking easy.
