The political leaders were duped in thinking that if they complained about the tax cuts that Amazon would stay and take the tax cuts off the table. Amazon called their bluff and now them and the people they represent are butthurt...to bad. What people aren’t talking about is the possible long term ramnifications of this. What large company will want to expand into New York in the future?

I don’t think it’s in New York’s best interest for this to continue to get press. The longer this goes the more long term damage it will do. New York’s narcissism was in full view in this one.

The local leaders should have watched what Amazon did when Seattle proposed the head tax. Amazon is big enough to set the terms. And there's 40 other cities who will give them what they want.
