It's not a bad product. They at least have actual coaches and the players can actually play.
I think it can sustain as long as the XFL dies a quick death. No way they can both be profitable IMO.
I agree, and it might be smart for the NFL to integrate this like the NBA integrates the D League. This could be a place where NFL teams can develop young players. It will also be a great test model for the NFL to test replay procedures, camera angles, new rules etc. Anything successful can then be used at the NFL level.
Long time Alliance fan here. Another great weekend of football! The Iron extended their historic home winning streak, San Antonio suffered the worst loss in franchise history, and the Hot Shots continue their hot streak to start the season. Orlando too is off to the best start in their storied history. It’s great that those faithful Apollos fans are getting rewarded with great football again. I do feel bad for Express fans. Their QB is a bum. Easily the worst they ever had.
Bishop Sankey and Keith Price were both signed to San Diego but they do not appear on the roster so I suspect they were cut.
I saw your boy Keith Price on the Birmingham Iron. We? played them last Saturday and he came in at QB on the PAT. All PATs are 2 point conversions. Keith didn't do well. I think that's the only rep he took all game.
Turn on NFL network right now to witness potential football history! The Orlando dynasty may end tonight. Salt Lake is playing them tough on the snowy tundra of legendary Rice-Eccles Stadium.
Just learned an interesting Alliance fact: Orlando practiced in Kingsland, GA last week. Probably to prepare for the altitude of Salt Lake City. Smart move Spurrier!
I'm still confident something like this could work if set up in partnership with the NFL as a developmental league. The NFL could incorporate these players in their supplemental draft. It would also be a great testing ground for new rules, enhancements, etc. Anything that seems to work you start to incorporate it in the NFL. Fans win, because smaller markets would go to these games, because these players could one day make the NFL and the league would also be seen as fresh. The NFL wins, because they are able to incorporate things without having to risk screwing up their brand.

I don't like playing football outside of fall or late summer. It's like Christmas on the 4th of July. Just keep it where it's supposed to be.
