The lie about illegals committing less crime than American citizens

Anyone who has debated the illegal immigration issue for any period of time has heard the response from liberals that illegals are actually very law-abiding and commit crime at a far lower rate than citizens and that anyone who brings up the issue of Illegals committing crime is just a racist demagogue trying to scare the American public.

Nearly 3 percent of illegal immigrants in Arizona end up in state prison or jail during the course of a year — four times the rate of U.S. citizens and legal residents, according to a study that uses federal reimbursements for prisons and jails to try to calculate one of the most important yet elusive statistics in the immigration debate.

In New Jersey, illegal immigrants are incarcerated five times more often, and rates on the West Coast are triple that of legal residents and citizens, according to the study by the Federation for American Immigration Reform.

    The Washington Times is barely better than a tabloid, smart guy. I guess if the universe you inhabit includes chain emails about how death panels are coming for grandma then it appears reasonable.

    The problem is, the stats they use includes being in jail or just being illegal. Remember, just being here is a crime, so you have to take that out of the equation. Which they don't do to my knowledge, in what the examiner is quoting.
