Lookin' at the devil, grinnin' at his gun
Fingers start shakin', I begin to run
Bullets start chasin', I begin to stop
We begin to wrestle, I was on the top
I want to thank you falettinme be mice elf agin
Thank you falettinme be mice elf agin
Stiff all in the collar, fluffy in the face
Chit chat chatter tryin', stuffy in the place
Thank you for the party, but I could never stay
Many thangs is on my mind, words in the way
I want to thank you falettinme be mice elf agin
Thank you falettinme be mice elf agin
Dance to the music, all nite long
Everyday people, sing a simple song
Mama's so happy, Mama start to cry
Papa still singin', you can make it if you try
I want to thank you falettinme be mice elf agin
(Different strokes for different folks, yeah)
Thank you falettinme be mice elf agin
Flamin' eyes of people fear burnin' into you
Many men are missin' much hatin' what they do
Youth and truth are makin' love, dig it for a starter, now
Dyin' young is hard to take, sellin' out is harder
Thank you falettinme be mice elf agin
I want to thank you falettinme be mice elf agin
Thank you falettinme be mice elf agin
Thank you falettinme be mice elf agin

Look at you @Swaye you romantical som bitch seducing CLS with the Al Green.

Al Green is a panty dropper. I had a former* suitor sing this to me to help win me back after a fight:

*You’ll note we didn’t stay together though ;)
You got that right. Al is one of the greatest PDs of all tim.

I remember once walking to practice on the Burke my freshman year and some old pimp pulls up in a 1965 Impala and the opening of Love and Happiness comes on with that killer Hammond Organ riff. That's when we all went out and bought Al Green Greatest Hits CDs at Tower on the Ave.

If you can't slay with Al Green on you have no game and should just give it up.

Truer words were never spoken BUT the reason I give the nod to Sly in this is his overall catalog is just so much full of great tunes than Al Green. Plus he's in the holy triumvirate of JB and George Clinton for basically creating funk.

Anyone familiar with Shadrach off Paul's Botique (hi @GrundleStiltzkin )... check out this sampled song of Sly's.

All tied up. If it gets to that point I get to invoke my President of the Senate tie breaking powers.

This is a hard one, for sure... but to me, Sly is probably one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century.

This seems to be shaping up to be one of the hardest fought battle of Round 1. I will call it at 5 pm tomorrow.

All tied up 8-8. Get your vote in before 5PM if you don't want Yella to act as tie breaker.
