A player can receive a medical redshirt if he’s played in one-third or fewer of his team’s games. Gubrud’s toe injury happened during the fifth game of EWU’s season, but the Eagles played in 15 total games due to their appearance in the FCS national championship against North Dakota State.

ESPN said yesterday that there are now something like 2,000 kids in the transfer portal and about 350 spots available so basically kids are entering the portal to see if there's interest in them from other schools but risking losing their status at their existing school
shit is completely out of hand.
Begs the question....but how is he a bad president? -
if you couldn't get playing time at OSEwe, you should definitely transferGrundleStiltzkin said: -

"THE PLAYER SAYS, 'THEY CHANGED THE UNIFORM. I DON'T LIKE THE COLOR.' THE NCAA SAYS, 'YOU'RE RIGHT. THAT'S A NASTY-LOOKING COLOR. YOU CAN TRANSFER.'"

I think they already established something known as the tarmac for coaches.RaceBannon said:There should be a coaching portal

“Coach Anderson has informed the Oregon State administration that after just a few games this season he will be entering the coach transfer portal. Many experts believe he is trying to make it back to Utah State in a move called the take backsies.”RaceBannon said:There should be a coaching portal

Another Sewell and Puka. Quite the intertwined twofer. Oregon plays the recruiting game HARD! FMLHillsboroDuck said:

according to Yahoo, THE Ohio State University has won signing day!!!
How you ask? They did it by using lawyers to convince the NCAA and its feckless leader that the 5* recruit who went to Georgia knowingly lining up behind a million other 5* recruits and then got pissy that he wouldn't see the field for 2-3 more years was troubled by being slandered by someone at Georgia.
This guy (me, not the yahoos at Yahoo) thinks the can of worms is officially opened and it will be fun or infuriating (depends if your team gets or loses its favorite bench warmer) to watch all the divorced parents gettin' paid as National Transfer Portal Court Day becomes so popular that ESPN will have a full day's coverage dedicated to it. Lots of live interviews with senior partners at some of the nation's most illustrious law firms. In-studio analysis by Jackie Chiles too!!
Tathan Martell... come on down! You are going to be starting for Miami in just a few months... you were "lied to by tOSU coaches, right? (wink wink)....right? That is a hardship! Good answer."

I glanced at 247Sports portal today - there is a ton of folks listed. A few 4/5 stars at different positions. Seems better than trying to get Juco players in.

If you are Les Miles or Mack Brown and you are trying to rebuild a depleted roster then yes, the portal seems like a good way to refill not your depth but to upgrade your starting line up due to the availability of immediate playing time. If you are Washington, Clemson or Alabama then bringing in guys who were not interested in competition or waiting their turn to start may be a bad idea. QB would be the major outlier here. They seem to have a much lower hit rate than most positions in recruiting and finding a good one can change the outlook on your season immediately. See, State, Ohio for confirmation of this fact.

not geaux'ing anywhere, but just sayin' that don't be surprised if kids start keeping a paper trail of everything that pisses them off during their time at university so they have the option of applying for a hardship in the portal.HillsboroDuck said:
