    I get that Trump didn't get what he wanted but I don't really see this as a defeat/victory situation. The only way a side loses is if they lose votes and, at this point, the lines have been drawn and people are in their camps. The outcome of the shutdown is going to do essentially zero to change anyone's mind in the perspective of the voting booth in 2020. The Trumpers are still gonna be for Trump and the Dems are still going to be Dems. It's all theater. It's all self-serving BS.

    I'll agree with the vote piece of this. This won't even be remembered negatively in 18 months, but Trump will repeat daily that he did everything he could.

    That being said. Trump is probably fucking pissed and he feels like he took it in the ass without being kissed.

    Trump is going to show them as the RESIST movement that they are as soon as this runs out. Trump shows he cares about the employees and the dems just care about trying to fuck Trump and hate their own country and it's citizens.

    I'm surprised af, though, that your position on open borders doesn't rankle more of the natives in the tug. How'd you get a pass on that, and I get the dreaded "establishment Republican" label (deserved though it may be).

    Race is right. He blinked. Not sure gov't shut-down was the card to play anyway. That one can really go either way no matter who plays it. He's the guy with his finger on the button at the end of the day.
