Illustrating my pet peeve on spending

LAUSD - LA schools, got a 70 million dollar grant to help low income students go to college. I did some math and at 20 grand a year for 4 years you could get 875 kids through college. And you could do it at state schools for half that and double the kids.
Of course, we aren't writing checks to families to send their kid to school. We're giving it to the worst school system in America to blow on hookers and coke. And there will never be an accounting of who got what help and how many kids went to college or trade school. We all just suck each other off because we CARE about poor kids.
I don't hate the poor nor do I necessarily think assistance for higher education is bad. I just hate the delivery system
