“It was a long time coming," said Adams. "I’ve been out and had three surgeries and it was just kind of surreal and I just didn’t think it would happen and it did happen. I knew I would get back, but you never know what it’s going to feel like until you actually get there. I’ve had so many struggles and ups and downs in the last two years that it was so rewarding and I’m so happy to be out there again. Even going to practice I really - I enjoy it. It’s what I came here to do and I’m finally working on it.”
“The worst days," Adams said. "They were bad. I woke up one morning and I couldn’t even walk my back hurt so bad. I just remember laying on the floor and I had to have Nick (Harris) bring me food. I tried to make it as positive as I can, but people don’t understand what all goes into getting surgery, what all goes into getting injured and the mental and physical pain that you go through. I like to call myself a positive dude. I never really got too down. It was all a learning experience, all fun, made it as fun as it could be.”
“100 percent yeah," said Adams, matter-of-factly. "I would be happy going to any bowl game. The Rose Bowl is definitely going to be awesome. Ohio State is going to be awesome. Disneyland is going to be fun. Hopefully I can fit on the rides. I’m excited to keep practicing and getting better, focusing on the little things that we can do, and watching this team grow into possibly a Rose Bowl Champion team.”
As someone with some back issues, I can relate to what he’s saying about being stuck on the floor. Wait, that might’ve been due to drinking. Never mind.
