(Even though it isn't)

Does anyone have any news tips or can point me to a place I can get the "Holiday Survival Guide"?

Should I pack blankets, flares, and water for the drive? What kind of snacks are the best for the drive? How can I get through the day without gaining weight? How can I deal with difficult family members? Should I talk about politics at the dinner table? How earlier should I get to the airport? Should I also pack my patience? Should we talk about what everyone thinks of stores being open on thanksgiving? Who is playing in a Turkey Bowl tomorrow morning? Anyone doing a turkey trot?

Happy TURKEY DAY!!!!

Some random day in the summer that NOGAF about. But it doesn't make for a good #newstips story.

  • with all the upcoming holiday drinking, I'm always looking for tips to avoid hangovers. The news told me the best way to avoid a hangover is to abstain from drinking altogether!!!! Thanks #newstips

    This works well for me:

Alternate alcoholic drinks with water. Alcohol is a diuretic, which means that it makes you urinate more, leading to dehydration. Dehydration is one of the major causes of hangover symptoms like thirst, dizziness and headaches. Therefore, the more water you drink to re-hydrate before, during and after drinking, the less severe your hangover is likely to be the next morning.

Have a big glass of water before you start drinking, then try to drink a glass of water for every alcoholic drink that you have over the course of the night. Your body will thank you for it in the morning.

Drinking water in between alcoholic drinks will also slow the speed of your alcohol consumption, preventing you from drinking too much too quickly.

    I'm out ...

There were 21,128 flights that day - 2,273 more than on the day before Thanksgiving.

    I love capitalism ...

Take 200 mg of thiamine, about 100 mg of vitamin B6, and 2 mg of folic acid. You can find all that shit OTC. Wash it down with water, a good 16-32 ounces.

Or, just keep drinking when you feel the hangover coming on.

    Happy TURKEY DAY!!!!

My son-in-law comes from a family of old and new money. His parents are divorced. His mom was a NFL cheerleader back in the early 1960s as a last moment substitute. She was very attractive. No pictures. She is as liberal as hell and hates Trump. His dad is a genius and probably on the spectrum but is a big strong dude so maybe not. But he is really self-absorbed and socially inept. He had made a lot of money in biochemistry stuff and owns like 15,000 acres in Central Oregon.

We had Thanksgiving with them in November of 2019 at my daughter and son-in-law's place. They stayed away from politics. Ah, but not my son-in-laws sister. She is liberal as hell and was a perpetual college student with three degrees. She is incredibly book smart but a social and common sense moron. Living on Mommy's money she has traveled the world and is a walking talking green gaia religionist with a carbon footprint greater than the street my daughter lives on. But it's all for her social goals and personal travel pleasure so it's all good.

Anyway, she was regaling us about her upcoming important trip to Kenya to save the rhinoceroses from poachers as part of her National Geographic gig. Of course it was all the fault of the white colonization of Africa. It was just laying there for me to pick up, but I didn't.

"So, let me get this straight. You are getting paid by white people to go to Africa to save the rhinoceros from getting killed by black people so they can sell their body parts to yellow people and this is somehow my fault?"
