Damn, this isn’t a udub sucks this is a fuck the west coast, all you bitches suck.
Udub really really needs to hit the playoffs this year (perception) or I’m afraid the exodus continues and only continues to worsen. I guess anyone from the west making it would help though I feel like a dirty slut for typing that out.
Been saying this for a while ... the perception of the P12 is a massive problem for UW

Uw should win a big non conference game or something to change the narrative.

yeah. UW is 0-5 in perception changing games. that is the reality. This is going to be a long post so bear with me, but this is the truth about UW on a national level since Pete has been our coach. Whatever reputation we salvaged in 2016 has completely stalled to the point we are now pretenders.
2016 L vs USC when everyone in the nation was watching. Yeah USC ended up being good (#3 nationally good), but losing 26-13 in a night game at Husky Stadium, wearing those stupid american helmets, was embarrassing.
2016 Bama was understandable. UW defense was national title good, the offense was fringe top 25 at best after the USC game.
2017 Penn State, UW played scared. Penn State was good, but not 28-7 lead good. UW did battle back which makes a bit of a silver lining, but losers lose. Penn State did only lose 2 games that year by 4 points until that game, so this was another juggernaut team.
2018 Auburn is where the losses start getting inexcusable. Auburn was not a great team, plain and simple. They were 5th in the fucking SEC for Christ sake. UW should have and could have beaten them by 2 scores, but the playcalling was as bad as I have ever seen in watching football. If you want to see a case study in how a superior team loses games, this is it. Browning options, choke penalties negating game winning TDs, playing scared and not to lose for a quarter and a half....this game had it all and then some. This is the defining game of UW as of now...beat the hell out of the west coast short bus, look flustered against any national team. It is the truth.
2018 Rose Bowl is bullshit. This team should have scored 35 EASILY on Ohio State. If Purdue and Maryland can do it, UW can do it on the fucking West Coast with a majority crowd. Embarrassing, completely embarrassing. UW once again makes it close at the end, but just like Penn State, everyone knew what the end result was going to be by half time.
UW, for the sake of the Pac-12, needs to fucking WIN the bowl game next year. The problem is, again I don't think UW is cut out for high stakes NY6 games. Maybe Eason has enough moxie and swagger, but until UW proves it can, it can't win a big game. Sorry guys, no one gives a shit that UW beat Colorado in 16 or Utah twice in 18. UW could be really good in 2019 and run the table, but with BYU as the marquee non-con opponent, no one will really care. Even an undefeated UW probably ends up as a four seed playing a southern team or OU in the south, and we all know how that will turn out.
We really need to hope BYU has a good season and loses convincingly to us to garner any respect. Unless we choke away 2 or so games, which is likely.
TLDR: It really is UW's fault the Pac 12 is viewed as it is, but UW is still overachieving. Life isn't fair, and UW needs to win an important game for the first time since USC 2009 to change the perception. I say 2009 USC because that game actual had a big national impact as far as title ramifications. No one nationally at the top level has respected a single UW win since then. Even our own conference is probably like, eh Washington is the tallest midget. UW is carrying the banner for the west coast because our rivals suck first and foremost. The west coast needs a UW win.
You read the part about him wanting to take visits in the Fall right? Look if it’s done right now it’s Oklahoma because he has family on the team. But this Ohio State stuff has come out of nowhere which makes me think it’s just an experience visit. He told UDUB he wants to take his official.
I think he’s in a real similar position as Henry To’oto’o as far as Bama goes. He’s a tweener between DL/OLB for them. Henry was a OLB/ILB tweener. Bama doesn’t necessarily prioritize length but I know for a fact Bama offers and recruits a lot of guys out here to keep us working. Lot of work for a 6’1 kid if he you find those all over the south. I think he loves Bama but I think they’d drop him because they were already telling him to lose weight and get down to 228-230. Take it from an undersized recruit, when coaches are talking about weight and stuff they don’t value you.

On page 2, there is article where is was measured at 6'1 - 230 at a opening event. Did he gain a bunch of weight?

He played the season around 240-245 cuz he THICC but Bama was jerkin him around saying they even like him at ILB without reps there IF he skimmed down. Just seems like a lot of work for Bama when they basically get anyone they want east of the Mississippi.
Look I know it’s a long shot cuz of OU, but Coach K liked a tweet after the Sav’ell situation implying Banks was their #1 front 7 recruit. And I can’t blame him the kid is the definition of an “OKG”

They put effort into recruiting, we don't. It's really that simple. Some people here think recruiting is just gonna fix itself once we win games, but it turns out that even having the #1 defense in the country doesn't matter if you can't sell it. Meanwhile Oklahoma is able to sell playing time on a genuinely shittastic defense. I'm shocked.

Don't be salty because you're from the bottom of the hill, BTP. You guys have redeeming qualities as well. Hardy, salt-of-the-earth lowland folk have a place in this world too.

We need to win a big out of conference game on the national stage to have a chance we these guys, same with ringo ransom and ricks
So Petersen can man up and make the playoff and win a big playoff game, or he can show himself the door
