Dont lose hope. Saban of the West is still in play

But as much as people want call for a coach's head and demand change...just take a minute for some practicality to set in. I know some of you hot heads want Mario to fire Arroyo (or even for Mario to fire himself), but that isnt going to happen, nor should it. A month ago, this team was fresh off a win over a top 10 UW team and was clearly on the way up. So what happened? Injuries. October and November belong to the teams with depth, and we just aren't there yet. Losing Sewell was a huge blow. And the fact that a true freshman is such an integral part of our team is telling. We are paper thin at LB, RB...and let's not even get into our receiving corps. Mario has a good plan, but he just doesn't have the horses in the locker room yet to execute it.
Our talent level is still pretty poor at most positions. Dillon Mitchell is a phenomenal WR, but the rest of those guys are pretty pedestrian. CJ Verdell is decent, but not great. And the rest of our RBs are below average. So do you really expect them to put up 50 points per game when our talent level is so sub par? Reinforcements are coming, and the future still looks bright. Keep that in mind. And remember, Nick Saban's first Bama team took a similar path. They got out to a hot start and shot up the polls, but injuries took their toll, and they crumbled down the stretch and lost to Louisiana Monroe to close out the year and finished 7-6. Even the 2008 team that won the SEC got smoked by Utah in the Sugar Bowl. It took them a few years to get it rolling, and we should expect that it will take at least 3-4 years too. Give it time, and Go Ducks!!!
