    This is year 5.

    He need moar tim.

He needs to get his own guys in there, then replace them with moar of his own guys because the guys that were his from before weren't fast strategy.

It's cute to see Doogs self proclaim the one year dynasty is over.

Rapp will likely still be around next year...
  • creepycougcreepycoug Member Posts: 22,977

Miller and Murphy aren't as good as advertised. JoJo is really meh. BBK is good but not a big loss.

What we need is a change in scheme. Hopefully all these badass DTs we redshirted are physically ready next year. Gaines and Vea were their sophomore years.

    For real? Or for whoosh?

Rapp has been dropping on draft boards and is a true junior. I think he is far less likely to go pro than Murphy

why is he dropping on draft boards?

Murphy will go if he's healthy. Rapp has put up some great tape this year, Saturday's game was probably his most impressive. Agreed that the combine will be huge for him, his biggest detractors are people uncertainty about his sideline to sideline speed. Put him in the combine and he'll shoot up from those 3rd round mocks.

Rapp is going first round. 2nd at the latest. He's an incredible tackler and Lake says he's the smartest guy he's ever coached. He can play free safety or strong safety and be the QB of a defense.

I completely agree. He will also ace the interviews and have zero baggage. That will get him into the ladder part of the 1st.

NFL-types will assess Murphy Jr and Rapp et al ... how are their skills and performance related to UW's scheme and lack of pass rush or contain?

I think Rapp and Murphy Jr display stuff the NFL wants and will be drafted high(er).

I don't know if Rapp will go in the 1st, but wherever he is drafted it will be to start.

    He's a good one.

Starting after the bye week, we need to get some true freshman into the rotation. Tuli, Taki, Sirmon, Tafisi, Kyler, Irvin, Dom, etc will all have big roles next year so it'll be beneficial to get them game experience this season.

God you guys are fucking stupid.

Our defensive scheme is amazing. WE HAVE NO FUCKING TALENT ON THE DL.

GG is a small two gap guy. Levi is a one gap guy. That's all we have. We play 2 guys and rotate them so their tremendously difficult roles don't wear them out.

We should NOT burn redshirts and we need to recruit better.

God - is it really that hard to look at our defensive front 7 and realize we have maybe 1 guy that could play for Bama? In 2016 we had 4-5 (Vita, Elijah, Greg, JoJo, Azeem).

Redshirts won't be burned if they play after the bye week.

    This is embarrassing.

Doesn't UW lose 3 of the top 4 DL, 3 of the top 4/5 LB and at least 2 starting DBs, 3 if Rapp goes?

This will be Taki's first game and Tuli's 2nd. I'm sure the coaches will be strategic on how they play them the rest of the season to cap them at 4 games apiece. We probably won't need them against Cal, OSU, and maybe WSU depending on whether Bowman is back for that game.

    Has bowman exhausted his eligibility?

Sad to see how far DDY has fallen.

Yes, he's a redshirt senior. One of the last members of Pete's first class at UW.
