It wasn’t just the racist belief, it was the fact the players thought they were smarter than the coaching staff. Who would blame them after that play call? If Seattle hadn’t had a timeout in their back pocket I would understand. But that wasn’t the case. Given the moment, it was the dumbest playcall in NFL history. There’s no coming back from that. -
In 2015, they started 2-4 with what was still a pretty good to great roster. The early schedule was tough, but you could tell it wasn't the same team, and they flat out blew the Cincinnati and Carolina games. Firing Bevell after 2014 would have sent a message and probably mitigated some of this, but they also just gradually became worse due to less talent, age, departures, and injuries.

What about the theory that the seahawks just suck ass and they lucked into one Superbowl? 9ers were the better team in 2013 and they got them at home.

Hawks are on the right track. The defense is a year and a couple players away.
Offense is a lot better.
Not saying they will get back to the 2012-2014 level, but they aren't nearly as bad as some make them out to be. -

Petes rah rah shtick works for a young team with a chip on their shoulder. The Midget QB Hugh Millen said could never play QB. Lynch: Buffalos trash. Sherman and Bennett, overlooked and disrespected. Thomas’s swagger. Chancellors thunder. It was inevitable they’d win a Super Bowl but that success quickly cratered.
Pete. Schneider. The players. All had a hand in the early success. Then came Hubris. It’s been the script since man was created.
Wilson challenged the team after the first super bowl to get better. Bennett said “fuck you.” And so it went.
Pete can’t win with a veteran tenured roster. New blood. Younger. Unfamiliar. It’s the only way.
I haven’t given a shit about the Hawks since the days of Chuck Knox and the Kingdome. Sonics>>>>Hawks
