USC is the children of the corn team of college football. Either you play as a true freshman or you are killed off by your 3rd year. The upside to recruits is that you know right away if you're going to play for them and if you aren't a true freshman starter, you can at least avoid wasting 2-4 years in college.
I rushed to tweet all the kids considering USC about this. I hope Jimmy Lake and Coach Pete are telling all the recruits this. So glad we do things the right away. So proud we have Coach Pete.
