The movie was alright, but the opening scene at D-Day was one of the best opening sequences of all time.
The movie does have a special place in my heart, because my grandfather a few years before he died had problems saying things correctly, and he always called the movie "Saving Ryan's Privates". RIP Grandpa
I guess this comes down to if you like the genre or not, which i pretty much hate, but this immediately popped up in my mind as an iconic opening to a movie i thought was blah.
